CALGARY, ALBERTA – Alpetro Resources Ltd. advises that it has filed its unaudited
interim financial statements for the three months ended March 31, 2009. The Annual
General Meeting of shareholder will be held at suite 2240 – 444, 5th AVE S.W. Calgary, Alberta at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 01, 2009.

Accomplishment in Q1 2009

• Production averaged 131 boe/d in Q1 2009 compared to 110 boe/d in Q1 2008.
• The Company announced 10 barrels of light oil production per day from 14-25 well (50%W.I.) at Edson in Q1 2009.
• The second 12-36 oil well (50% W.I.) at Edson recommenced production of 50 barrels of fluid with 60% water cut in December 2008 but has since been shut-in due to freeze up in the winter.
• Carefully managed capital expenditures commensurate with available funds flow.
• Reduced Bank's debt to $530,000
